Our Mission

FHAT is dedicated to reducing the suffering of dogs and cats everywhere. Whether at home or visiting other places in the world, they reach out to local communities to help with animal sterilization efforts and more. No matter where you are traveling to, there are animals that need your assistance. Consider finding a local rescue, contacting them, and discovering what they need—whether it’s supplies or support through fundraising for animals. Schedule some time to visit the rescue and share some love with the rescuers and the animals. Remember, it takes a village, and volunteering for animal welfare can make a significant difference.

It Takes A Village!

Our Partners

FHAT Friends Helping Animals Together want to send a huge shout out to our friends and fans. 𝙒𝙚 𝙘𝙖𝙣’𝙩 𝙩𝙝𝙖𝙣𝙠 𝙮𝙤𝙪 𝙚𝙣𝙤𝙪𝙜𝙝 𝙛𝙤𝙧 𝙮𝙤𝙪𝙧 𝙨𝙪𝙥𝙥𝙤𝙧𝙩 in our mission of animal sterilization and fundraising for animals. Our Volunteers

FHAT relies on the dedication of volunteers to turn our visions into reality. Their critical support is essential for our mission of animal sterilization and other initiatives aimed at improving animal welfare. While some of our volunteers are highly skilled DVMs (veterinarians) and RVTs (Registered Veterinary Technicians), many are everyday people with big hearts who are willing to sacrifice their time and resources to help these animals. If you are interested in volunteering for animal welfare with FHAT or want to learn more about our fundraising for animals, please contact us for more information.

Where We’ve Been!

Puerto Angel, Mexico (Dogs of Puert Angel) 🇲🇽

Five volunteers from FHAT travelled from as far as Wisconsin to support the dogs and cats of Puerto Angel.  FHAT was honoured to partner with Dogs of Puerto Angel for two high-impact sterilization clinics:

On March 1st: A volunteer veterinarian and his wife from Wisconsin performed 18 cat sterilizations in a demanding, rural environment.

On March 7th: Four volunteers worked tirelessly to help sterilize over 120 animals in a single day in San Pedro Puchulta.

Puerto Escondido, Mexico (Huellitas de Acero) 🇲🇽

5 FHAT Volunteers from Canada volunteered at 2 days of clinic on February 28 and March 1, 2026 where 292 animals were sterilized. 204 of those sterilizations were sponsored by the FHAT Team.

It was our pleasure to partner with Huellitas de Acero on this campaign. We want to thank them for welcoming us into their space and the people of Puerto Escondido who entrusted us with caring for their animals. It was truly an honor to serve the people and animals of Puerto Escondido. 🌴🐕

Nuevo Arenal, Costa Rica (Homeless & Helpless) 🇨🇷

FHAT assembled a dedicated team of 11 volunteers for a two-day clinic focused on animal sterilization in Nuevo Arenal, Costa Rica, on November 8/9, 2025.

A total of 231 animals from the community and surrounding areas were brought in for sterilization, with some traveling from as far as San Jose. Many individuals even brought stray animals from their neighborhoods.

In collaboration with our in-country rescue partner, Doris Luby of Homeless & Helpless, we are thrilled to contribute to the essential work of controlling the overpopulation of dogs and cats in the region. This initiative also highlights the importance of fundraising for animals and encourages more people to consider volunteering for animal welfare.

Cartagena Colombia (Colombianimals) 🇨🇴

FHAT took a team of volunteers to Albornoz, Colombia, near Cartagena, an area that is very underserved, partly due to its challenging location at the top of a steep hill. Despite these obstacles, the team successfully performed animal sterilization on 99 dogs and cats on January 25/26, 2025, in partnership with Colombianimals. With some funding remaining from their fundraising for animals efforts, Colombianimals returned to Albornoz at the end of February to complete an additional 21 sterilizations, further supporting the local community through volunteering for animal welfare.
